 The Lymph System

Welcome to a profound overview of one of the most important aspects of the human body

A discourse by Harvey Diamond on the importance of the lymph system.

Hello! I'm Harvey Diamond, author of Fit for Life: A New Beginning. It's a pleasure to be here!

My book discusses every aspect of a person's well being. Pain, whether it's a result of a headache or cancer, is the direct result of the condition of the body's lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system is the body's garbage collector. As part of a natural process, the body generates toxins, and the lymph collects and eliminates this waste from the body.

If more waste is produced than the lymph can remove, there will be an overflow of toxins, and that's why we experience pain and discomfort.

There is three times more lymph fluid than blood in the body! That's 18 quarts of lymph fluid. So, all areas of health are dependent on how clean the lymph system is.

I've spent the last 30 years studying the effect of a clean lymph system on our well being. This is what I have discovered: Without question, taking the steps necessary to clean the lymph system so it operates at optimum efficiency is the missing link in the quest for health.

Q: How do you clean your lymph system?

A: No matter what kind of discomfort you're experiencing -- it could be lupus, headaches, Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome or any other ailment -- all diseases are the direct result of overburdening the lymph system. We can cleanse our lymphatic systems by dietetic maneuvering.

Here's how it works, and it's actually very simple. Digestion requires more energy than any other activity the body can perform. It requires immediate energy to break down the food -- especially cooked food.

The lymph system is usually trying to remove toxins, which come mainly from the cooked food we eat. So, one should spend a period of about one week, four times per year, concentrating on the foods that require the least amount of digestive energy.

These are fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices, and fresh vegetables and fresh vegetables juices.

When you eliminate the toxins that come from cooked foods, the lymph can concentrate on effectively cleaning out the lymph system, because it's redirecting that energy.

This is important even for the prevention of cancer. A portion of my book is devoted to fighting and preventing cancer. My father died of cancer when I was young, and now I'm dedicated to preventing it.

Q: What are some factors that will cause a person's lymph system to go haywire, thereby causing either large weight gain or loss?

A: Well, the lymph system never goes "haywire." Rather, it becomes overburdened with more waste than it can get rid of. When the amount of waste that enters the lymphatic system exceeds the amount of waste that leaves it, lymph nodes swell up.

This means we're not letting the lymph do its job. For example, if you cut your finger, your body will automatically heal the cut.

But the cut won't heal if you keep pulling it open each morning! Likewise, the lymphatic system will cleanse itself, but only if we give it the opportunity to do so.

The problem is, we've never been taught how important the lymph is for disease prevention -- so when something hurts, we just run to drugs to ease the pain.

Pain is the lymph system's message to us that it's overloaded -- and we take drugs that just mask the problem! Drugs also actually prevent the lymph system from healing.

Q: Is your system an eating program, a supplement program or an exercise program?

A: The basic premise of my books is to increase respect for the human body. It focuses on dietetics and understanding the limitations of the lymphatic system and the digestive tract, and it shows you how to work in harmony with them.

There's a huge intelligence that governs the human body, and I teach people how to align themselves with that.

Q: Was this book originally published some time ago?

A: Fit for Life: A New Beginning was published last month. Fit for Life was published in the 1980s. My latest book is about the lymph system.

Health is not just the absence of disease or illness, it is the presence of vitality. It is the lifelong process of prevention and commitment to wellness.

Our health is the single most important thing we own. It makes all of our other possessions immaterial and worthless to us if we are too sick to enjoy them because our health has failed.

The ultimate game on this wonderful planet earth is the game of life, only the healthiest and the fittest will survive and win.

The longest journey may begin with a single step but it does not have to be a lonely journey, health and happiness can be yours.

 Carpe Diem

You don't get to choose how you're going to die, or when. But you can decide how you're going to live now.

Life can be full of joy and satisfaction. You can have peace of mind, improved health and an ever-increasing flow of energy.

The saddest words you can ever utter are, ''If I had my life to live over again".

Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.

Life is not measured by the number of   breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

"You cannot teach a man anything;
you can only help him to find it
within himself."

The Most profitable Investment Of Your Life!  Is to invest in your health.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Money is the most envied, but the least enjoyed. Health is the most enjoyed, but the least envied.

Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.

If rich people could buy better health (not better doctors or medical treatment, but better health), then wouldn't it seem that wealthier people would be living longer instead dying from cancer, heart attacks and other degenerative diseases.
